Paul Malsom Trio

The Paul Malsom Trio A fresh and exciting approach to the Bossa Nova and it's influence on more contemporary stylings, from Charlie Byrd to John Mclaughlin and Pat Metheny. This new trio- featuring New Zealander Tim Robertson on double bass, Andres Ticino from Ecuador on percussion and Kent’s Paul Malsom on acoustic guitar play Brazilian rhythms, rich percussive tones, lyrical melodies, and create an inspired improvisational interplay.

Harry Beckett Quintet

Resident in the UK since 1954, Harry Beckett's reputation extends throughout Europe and the USA. In 1961 he played with Charlie Mingus in the film All Night Long. Since then he has played with a succession of jazz greats, as well as leading his own quintet. This  concert will feature tunes of Charlie Mingus, and provide a showcase for the combined talents of Beckett’s own fine trumpet playing with… Chris Biscoe sax, Liam Noble piano, Fred Baker bass and Tony Marsh drums.
